UX Case Study · 2026
The operating system that turned the dealership sales floor into a live, competitive scoreboard.
01 — The Challenge
of sales teams tracked deals on whiteboards or sticky notes
lost each week per manager reconciling manual reports
of split deals went unattributed to the wrong rep
02 — Who It's For
"I know who's winning when I walk the lot. I just can't prove it at 9am Monday."
03 — The Insight
Sales happen on the floor, not the spreadsheet. So we built the floor a scoreboard.
The insight was simple: dealerships already had the energy — the competition, the gongs, the walk-up-to-the-board culture. They just lacked the instrument. FloorScore doesn't replace the floor. It amplifies it.
04 — Design Principles
Every feature had to survive a 10-second glance from across the showroom. Density without noise.
No more shadow spreadsheets. The Deal Log is canonical; everything else reads from it.
Gongs, leaderboards, pace bars. Competition is the cheapest motivation in a dealership.
Every dealership is a snowflake. We built switches, not forks.
05 — The Solution
Competition
A live leaderboard where every deal rings a gong. Teams compete head-to-head; individuals chase the crown. Pace bars show exactly how far each rep is from target.
Source of truth
Every deal, every status, every split — in one configurable log. Filter by month, type, or rep. The whole floor reads from the same page.
| Customer | Vehicle | SP | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| James Harmon | 2024 Honda Accord | Marcus W. | delivered |
| Priya Nair | 2023 Toyota RAV4 | Jenna R. | pending |
| Carlos Vega | 2025 Hyundai Tucson | Tyler B. | closed |
| Lisa Chen | 2022 Ford F-150 | Sofia L. | lost |
Motivation

07 — Process
Discover · Week 1–2
Shadowed GMs, salespeople, and BDC agents across three dealerships. Mapped the real deal flow — from up to gong.
Define · Week 3
Distilled 40+ interviews into three personas and one north-star: the floor needs a scoreboard, not a spreadsheet.
Design · Week 4–7
Built the VS Board first — the emotional core. Everything else organized around it. 11 prototypes before the Deal Log felt right.
Build · Week 8–14
Released to a single pilot store, watched a manager ring the gong on day one, and never looked back.
Evolve · Ongoing
Every dealership asked for one different thing. We built switches — teams, statuses, spiffs, lot maps — not forks.

The Result
We didn't digitize the whiteboard. We made the whole floor keep score.
FloorScore is live across dealerships, tracking thousands of deals and ringing gongs in real time. The whiteboard is gone. The energy stayed.
